A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture

Spirit Creek Middle School celebrated Black History Month with Superior Court Judge Carl C. Brown, Jr. on Friday, February 20, 2015.  Judge Brown spoke about his life experiences and gave students tips for success in career and life.

When 6th grader Avontae Singley sent President Obama one of his drawings, he never
imagined he would receive autographed photos and a personalized letter from the President. However, that is exactly how President Obama showed his appreciation for Avontae's artwork.
